This is not my course, I have no affiliation, and am not financially benefitting from it in any way but there is a physiotherapist that is teaching a concept in pediatric orthotic intervention that has changed the way I align orthotics for my pediatric population. It benefits these kids with improvements in there alignment, stability and function. I would like to get the word out because this does not promote a product, but a fresh clinical evaluation and alignment technique that is needed in our profession.

>> Elaine Owen, MSc, SPR, MCSP, Clinical Specialist Physiotherapist from England is changing the landscape in pediatric orthotic management. If you haven't heard she teaches a pediatric gait course focused on segmental kinematics. It includes a close look at the ground reaction force (GRF) vector and its optimal alignment through design and tuning of Ankle Foot Orthosis Footwear Combinations (AFOFC). If you are interested in pediatric orthotics you must attend one of her courses. The algorithm Elaine has developed walks you step by step through the process to obtain an optimum prescription (design) that will improve the daily function for your patients. Aligning the ground reaction force vector through a design and tuning process in conjunction with physical therapy can greatly increase the stability in static stand and ambulation.
>> Physical therapists are turning out in great number to these courses and Orthotists trained in this work are desperately needed. I encourage any orthotist interested to attend one of Elaine's courses and see for yourself the benefits of optimal GRF alignment.
