Hi all,
I am doing a student project in which I am examining the idea of
prescribing pediatric TF or KDA patients with an articulated knee earlier
that traditional literature recommends. Current literature recommends that
children learn to walk with an unarticulated knee and once they have
mastered this, they are given an articulated knee; this typically between
the ages of three and five. Recent research has shown success in providing
children with articulated knees at a much younger age and often bypassing
the initial prescription of a locked knee. This is typically referred to as
the Early Knee Protocol. Does anyone have any experience (positive or
negative) in the early prescription of an articulated knee to the pediatric
population that they can share with me?
Cheers,
Anne Whitney
