I was intrigued by a part of the Salt Lake City Olympic Games Closing ceremony. After the ice was painted six people ran around on stilts strapped to their boots. They appeared to be flexible struts of some kind (possibly carbon fiber?) curving forward and approximately 24 long below the foot. They were strapped to the leg just distal to the knee with a shelf of some kind to support the foot. Does anyone have more information on this device.
