Looking for ideas or suggestions on an obesity garment to contain a
hernia. Have a patient whose abdomen hangs to mid-thigh. We attempted
a standard elastic style corset with Velcro closure and pendulous
abdomen front. This pushed the fat UP, but into her diaphragm causing
shortness of breath (she is on oxygen). We next tried an obesity belt
and she found this very uncomfortable as she rolled over the top edge.
Does anything exist on the market that acts to contain the tissue
centrally (maybe with an upward & downward force) instead of directing
all the force up & in? I realize this is probably a long shot! :-)
