I currently have a 96kg male transfemoral patient with a 25 degree flexion
contracture. He has a long stump and a locking pin liner prescription would
produce a poor knee centre. I currently have him on a suction limb which
looses suction normally from the posterior lateral area. Making the socket
to tight does not allow tissue into the medial area of the socket. His stump
is quite flaccid but he does have a bit of muscle contraction. Hypobaric
socks have been suggested to me but I know little about them or where they
come from.
I would very much appreciate any suggestions on the above patient or
Hypobaric socks
Yours gratefully
