Hello Listserv. I have a bit of a quandry. I cast for transtibial
prostheses using the coyote design method compressing the tissues with
fiberglass tape. I have a short transtibial amputee with a fleshy distal
end that I casted over an ossur iceross dermo locking liner. His distal
end elongated about a centimeter and his diameters reduced beyond the 4%
that I was planning on reducing. I’ve not reduced it any and have smoothed
the mold but I’m unsure if I should reduce it or leave it alone and see how
it fits. What does everyone think? I know the goal is to elongate with
pin systems to reduce pistoning but this one left me scratching my head.
Thank you,
