Dear List,

Who out there is still using an old PDI or ART carver with centroid box and Tracer version 12 (no longer supported) or shapemaker ( no longer supported)? What are you doing when these software companies are no longer supported? It seems that the new software companies are developing their software to only work with their carver. It would be nice to have these software companies develop a universal file format to communicate with other carvers like they did in the beginning with .aop format on the software side. We have been using Tracer and shapemaker set-up for 30 years and will be purchasing new software but it seems that the new software will not communicate with our older carvers. Has anyone converted a carver to work with a new software? It's hard to throw out 300k worth of old technology in carvers to just buy a new carver that does the same function for 100k -300k.

Thank you,

Tony Culver
