Hi all.
Looking for suggestions. Has anyone had success with a specific unloader KO for morbidly obese patients? I have a patient that is 5’8”, 420 lbs. They have medial compartment OA, frequent knee buckling issues, chronic pain and falls. Significant adipose tissue at thigh and posterior knee. They stated they have had problems with KOs in the past, i.e. lack of suspension, digging in, pinching, sores and generally did not see a big improvement with use of the KO. All classic issues for a morbidly obese knee brace patient. Would like to make a difference for them, but certainly many challenges. Patient would like to avoid a KAFO if possible. Any suggestion of braces you have had success with or tips to share would be appreciated.
Thank you
