I have a patient who likes to use baby oil and/or mineral oil as a donning aid in his flexible inner liner (knee disarticulation). The oils he uses cause breakdown in the liner and it cracks in less than 3 months. We have told him not to use baby oil or mineral oil but he persists. We have also tried multiple different materials for flexible inner socket and have had the same issues. We know that the flexible inner liners DON'T crack in the same manner for other patients who use them. Furthermore, the cracks are not typical (like over the edges of the brim) they are always longitudinal in places that shouldn't be cracking.

Question:

1) Are you familiar with any other liquid donning aid that simulates baby oil or mineral oil which will not cause long term break down in the plastic?

He has tried Dry-Lite and doesn't like it and refuses to pay $17 for 4 oz. of the Alps lotions. He also dislikes alcohol, says it dried him out.

2) Are you familiar with any flexible inner socket material that WILL hold up to a dousing (and I mean really dousing it with puddles at the bottom) of oils such as these?
