Hi alll

I'm treating a woman right now who had a total knee replacement in
Oct 2014. She's faced with a flexion contracture, and can only
achieve about 170 degrees of extension (10 off of full ext'n). She's
had various PT sessions etc and has been prescribed a dynamic
extension KO by the surgeon. I have used the ottobock correction
system joints (specifically the dynamic unit # 17BK2) with good
success nocturnally but am wondering if anyone has used this joint
for an ambulatory orthosis. Granted the power unit will be causing
her knee to want to extend which is not typical of normal gait but
her gait right now involves wearing a zimmer splint. While I don't
read any contraindications to this in the ottobock tech info I'm
really looking for real world experiences.

Has anyone used a dynamic ext'n orthosis during ambulation?

Thanks
