Hello Everyone,

I have a question regarding the documentation required TODAY (since it seems
to change frequently) to provide replacement liners for a BK prosthetisis.

In the past, I know that a prescription was required, which we always got
from the physician.

But, with the changes in Medicare and with the audits going on, it is likely
that this claim will also be audited (it seems like we now have 100% claims
being audited again, AND I still have a 100% passing rate on these
audits...everything from a K-1 level BK prosthetic leg, to the K-4 level
prosthetic legs, including socket changes and everything). With a 100%
passing rate, you would think that they would get the picture that I am
doing everything according to the Book......

Anyway, what do we HAVE to get from physicians to provide this service? Any
ideas?

I have contacted Ossur's team and was told that There is nothing in the
LCD that indicates this type of documentation is required.

I know this has come up in every Medicare University conference, and seems
to change every time. I just want to make sure that I have the proper
documentation to pass an audit for this type of claim....

Any experts on this in this listserve??? Advice would be appreciated.

Thanks
