Below I attached a video orthoses that were designed for a dog with
deformed front legs. The devices were designed by a team 3D Printers and a
Certified Orthotist (possible someone on this list serve.... if so I want
to buy you a beer).

The 3D printers were able to make a design I couldn't even dream of (and
if I dreamed it, would know how to make). While the Orthotist used time
tested bio-mechanical principles and materials to make sure they were fit
properly. The result was amazing....

I have trouble with people claiming that prosthetic devices, which are fit
to generic measurements and made out are fragile plastics, are as good as
custom made myoelectric (carbon fiber) arms. I also have trouble with
people who claim that the education and experience of a prosthetist is not
necessary to ensure a proper fit.

However if we can get them away from that rhetoric and toward a partnership
like was seen in this video..... I think the future of O and P and 3D
printing is a bright one.

Happy Holidays
