Dear all,
I hope this email finds you well. My name is Sebhat Iyassu (Mr.). Receive my sincere apologies if you find my email inappropriate in any way. I have a two year old son (Daniel) who was born with spina bifida. His occupational therapy has been discontinued for some months after he was operated for a dislocated hip we discovered. He has just resumed his therapy and we have bought him a KAFO (photo attached) for both legs. He moves both legs although the left one is slightly weaker than the right one and he can stand for a short time. He has a knee flexion contractures also has a frog-leg shaped legs (photos attached).
Friends, I would like to kindly ask if the KAFO is going to assist with the treatment of the knee flexion contractures as well as the leg shape. For how long is he supposed to put on the KAFO? (Currently he wears it for an hour when we stand him, about three hours when is having his afternoon sleep and about two to three hours after he has slept at night.
I would like to thank you in advance for any suggestions or advices forwarded.
Best regards,
Sebhat Iyassu (Mr.)
