Thanks for sharing!
Looks like they missed an important exclusion, though, from 164.506(c)3
that states A covered entity may disclose protected health information
to another covered entity or a health care provider for the payment
activities of the entity that receives the information.
This allows Physicians and PTs to disclose to us their notes and medical
record documentation we require in order to justify our services to get
paid by Medicare and other insurances (and mentioned in the dear
physician letters). They only mention treatment purposes on this list in
regards to other healthcare providers.

I found this link this week and I wanted to share it with the group.
This is a resource from WEDI (The Workgroup for Electronic Data
Interchange) who is an advisory organization to the HHS. It's the best
tool I've seen yet for deciding who your Business Associates are in
light of the Omnibus Ruling changes which expanded the definitions of
Business Associates.
