Hello Colleagues and Guests,
Unless I'm reading it wrong, it sounds like required fingerprinting is
coming to O&P for some high risk folks starting in 2014, courtesy of
CMS. Should I be surprised?
On another front, it has come to my attention that some items which are
required by Medicare to last for 5 years, may not have parts available
for the duration of the 5 year period. That sounds like a potential
problem to me and am wondering if anyone else has heard of this. For
example, if an appropriate prosthetic foot shell cannot be obtained to
fit a foot within the 5 year period after dispensing, due to the
manufacturer's discontinuation, what will Medicare's requirement be?
Just curious to hear your replies.
Thanks,
