The American Association of Breast Care Professionals is proud to announce
that it has been added to an Advisory Panel for a study based out of the MD
Anderson Cancer Center, Houston Texas.

This three year study, Contralateral Prophylactic Mastectomy and Breast
Cancer: Clinical and Psychosocial Outcomes is funded by the Patient Center
Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI).

The study's primary goal is to examine the psychosocial factors involved in
a women's decision to undergo a contralateral prophylactic mastectomy. Upon
conclusion, the researchers will develop a data driven tool helping women
to better understand the risks and effectiveness of this surgical
treatment option.

For more information and to follow the progress of the study, please
contact the AABCP.
