Greeting List Aficionados,
I would like opinions on fitting a knee brace on leg anatomy of peculiar proportions. The leg to be fit measures circumferentially thus: 27 thigh - 19 knee - 17.5 calf - longitudinal distance from thigh measurement to calf measurement is 11.5. Diagnosis is mild osteoarthritis. Individual cannot bend at waist to don a tubular neoprene or cloth knee brace.
In the past a KAFO with a skinny PLS strut would be in order just to maintain suspension and orthotic knee joint position but that brace may be thought of overkill for the diagnosis.
So far sticky dots sewn inside the wrap and calf strap have been tried. Suspend from a waist-belt or hold up with strut to shoe not an option.
A KO with the interior of a prosthetic gel liner? That would work. Is there such an animal??
