Does anyone have a contact phone number for complaints against Health
Integrity (ZPIC auditor)?
Has anyone had any experience with this type of ZPIC denial below?
We fit bilateral below the knee prostheses to a patient. It is currently
going through a ZPIC audit with Health Integrity. They have denied our
redetermination. The reason for denial is the prescribing physician signed
an attestation in 2011 stating they were not going to prescribe
prosthetics. However, this Dr is enrolled on the PECOS database. He does
have an NPI and is eligible to order DME according to the PECOS list
provided on CMS. Health Integrity states there is a separate database they
have access to that no one (including suppliers) has access to them.
Health Integrity states there is NO way for suppliers to prevent this type
of claim denial. In other words, suppliers are expected to supply Medicare
patient's with prosthetic limbs and it may get denied if your referring
physician signed this attestation. This is NOT American and is NOT right.
This deserves national attention!
