Hello List,
I have a patient who has been having fairly serious issues with ingrown and
infected hair follicles.
He was in a MVA in late 2012 and is 6 months post-op and we have tried
several different systems to try to alleviate the problem (no extra expense
to the patient or insurance)
There seems to be no specific site where the issue is occurring and but the
skin contacting the liner is effected without issues above the liner. Here
is what I have tried with no real solution.
1. Preparatory Prosthesis with OWW locking original liners
2. Harmony VASS system with Urethane liners
3. Lastly, I have replaced the VASS with Ossur Skin friendly locking liners
and a pin lock system after the patient has been diagnosed with a neuroma
of the tibial nerve.
4) I have also tried several lotions, sanitizers, and anti-persperants but
would be open for suggestions
What are your suggestions for this patient?
