I've had the opportunity to work with Acc-Q-Data, based in Boca Raton, FL
with a couple of different companies I worked with. They did great work and
increased cash flow for both companies. I would definitely recommend
contacting them...the web site is www.acc-q-data.com.

Greetings,
We use an outsourced billing person, who does only prosthetic billing as far
As I know, and it is a mixed bag. The pro is that you have someone who does
Nothing except that all day and knows the ins and outs of the changes in L
Codes, tips for billing, etc. It is also probably cheaper to hire one than
To hire your own who knows what they are doing and pay them full time to
Battle insurance companies all day.
The cons are that, at least in our case, you give them a LOT of power. For
Instance, we don't really know what he submits to the insurance or when. He
Doesn't want us to see his appeals, etc, because they are proprietary. He
Also has his own thoughts on the best way to go about things that we don't
Necessarily agree with. We used to submit complete and comprehensive
Authorization packages with multi page letters demonstrating medical
Necessity, etc. He does not like to do that - says they don't read it
Anyway and then you have nothing left to appeal with. His way worked
Beautifully for a while, but it hasn't for the last 6 months. A recent
Problem: He told us that a patient had been denied for the prosthesis
Again, and that it was the 3rd appeal and in order to appeal again we had to
File a complaint with the insurance board or something. Essentially, he
wasted the first two appeals without us ever knowing about it and the
Reasons were relatively minor things we could have easily addressed.
The other problem is that they have other clients as well, so it seems that
They do things in a way that is most expedient and efficient for them to
Allow them to handle as many clients as they can -- not necessarily the BEST
Way to ensure that every claim is authorized and approved.
So, my word of advice is if you use an outside billing person, find someone
That will be flexible, work with you, and be sure to have a specific
Protocol for the documents you want to receive and when you want to be
Consulted.

John-I strongly recommend OPBS. I have heard nothing but good things about
them. I know that in addition to claims and billing, they are really strong
in providing RAC and CERT audit support and they also do paperwork
procurement.
Here is a link to their website: oandpbilling.com
I will be interested to know what you find out.
 Thanks!

s 85% prosthetic pt's and they and their team are on top of the game. Call
