This is an addendum to the original post.

Patient is a medicare beneficiary. Patient was unhappy with check socket
fit. Device was taken to definitive (3 weeks ago), Pt was still unhappy
with fit of device at time of delivery, but practitioners stated that
the device was fine. Upon my inspection of the device, the fit was
terrible.

Pt has tried to contact the company but has had only 1 follow up in past
three weeks. Pt wants to return the socket and related components in
full to the company that provided it to them and then start over with
our company.

Pt has signed for receipt of the definitive device.

If he refuses the device and returns it to the original company, what
are his options for starting over with us or another company.

Thank you,
Tony

Does a patient who received a definitive prosthesis with in the past
month for instance, have the right to refuse the prosthesis if they are
unhappy with its fit, function, and service from the company that
provided the device? If so does anyone have information on this topic or
know where to find it?
