This fellow, Cecil Risher, operated a company called Preferred Prosthetics and Orthotics in Brunswick GA. I just want to make it clear that my company, Preferred Orthotic and Prosthetic Services in Tacoma, WA is not affiliated in any way with him or his company. We have been in business since 1995 and are ABC accredited and employ licensed and board certified practitioners. Mr. Risher apparently was neither.

Since both
GA and TX have O&P Practice Acts I assume that he could/should
loose his license. I know he would under IL statutes because we have done
it in the past. The same should apply to his having either ABC or BOC
certification. If he was not licensed in either and was still paid by CMS,
then this case should be used by the O&P Alliance to further its case with
Congress and CMS.
