Subject: Gait PLate responses

Dear List,
Thank you all for your responses to if you have ever used a gait plate type orthotic on an adult with in-toeing coming from the femur. I had a couple of shoe modification responses Ie: cut a bevel into heel of shoe also a 1/8 medial forefoot wedge under insole of running show,One orthotist wrote yes has has good results but not sure about it coming from femur, One orthotist used on adult and said it didn't work. And most responses were What the heck is a gait plate orthotic? My definition would be a polypropylene shell foot orthotic that is trimmed to extend past the fourth and fifth metatarsals leaving the 3rd second and first mets free of plastic. This makes it necessary for the child to externally rotate their lower extremity and abduct their feet in order to propel forward. You can see pictures if you google it. Thanks again for responses.

Sincerely,
