Greetings to all ...I have a question about the adaptation period for a patient fittings prosthetics for the first time. As we know patients are presented fittings for the first time present a reduction in his stump volume. During this period of time in clinical practice we have been leaving the test socket, and then developed the final socket when the volume of the stump has shrunk. My question is, according to your experience in clinical practice, or if you know some literature, how much is the period of adaptation that should leave about it, How much is the period of adaptation that shold leave the test socket before making the final?, And this recommended period would the same for above kee and below knee amputation? Thank you all for your participacon in the forum! All have great week ....Martin Duran, C.P.O.
