Summery of query re: Shrecker Tennis Shoes

Original post:

I have 400 1/2 pairs of high quality Shrecker Tennis shoes, all sizes
and styles. I am trying to get them for use to amputees, perhaps in
Haiti or other locations where some amputees might not have access to
limbs.

Can anyone help me locate any group that would have some interest in
this project? We (MAAF, our Los Angeles local support group) can
perhaps raise funds for part of the expense of shipping the shoes
perhaps by sea or air? Thanks for any support.

Hello Wayne:

I have received some nice responses. Nothing definite yet, but I feel
confident that we can get use out of the shoes. Phil Tamoush

You may want to try contacting Physicians for Peace in Norfolk, VA.
They have amputee programs in the Philippines, Turkey and elsewhere.
A contact person in Mary Kwasniewski. Her email is:

Hi John:I did contact and speak with Physicians for Peace. They did
not have the interest nor the money to ship the shoes anywhere and
suggested I contact other organizations. Before I just drop them off
to Goodwillor Salvation Army, I sure would like to know where to
ship them if anyone in Haiti can use them. By sea, the cost is not
that much, but I have no idea where to send them. Phil:
