I found several more responses to my question about BK scarring:

- custom polyeurethane liner by Otto Bock. Have the pt lubricate the skin graft area with some ointment (A&D would be fine).

- Otto Bock Custom Urethane liner, with at least 14mm distal thickness, would be best here. Patient could use vaseline as skin / liner lubricant, to further reduce shear forces.

- suction suspension with a dermo type liner if highly active. If lower activity, the Alps non sticky and uncovered opaque liner (the name escapes me) works well.

I have a very short TT amputee with mostly scarring and skin grafts covering his limb as the result of a motorcycle accident 35 years ago. He is successfully wearing a TEC liner that he uses with lubrication. He used to wear the 2- 5 ply socks for cushion effect with the old Kemblo/leather liner with joints and thigh corset to support his weight on the limb but now is only wearing a TSB socket with the TEC liner and he marvels at how much more comfortable he is compared to years ago. He has worn this combination for the past 18 or more years now.
Good luck with your patient.
