I have base eight-month-old boy that is being treated for plagiocephaly
using the Orthomerica starlight. He has developed some very localized
swelling in the posterior occipital will neck region. It feels like there
is a swollen gland approximately 6 mm x 10 mm. They are located
symmetrically approximately 1 inch from center and 3/4 inch from the distal
trim of the helmet. His mother reports that he is a back sleeper and cries
after four hours of sleep with the helmet is on. Any suggestions or
concerns. Has anyone seen this, if so how do you resolve this. I have
referred him to his pediatrician and he was not concerned but his mother
still is.
