Good Morning,
Are you aware of any teams or organizations that visit Iraq to
provide prosthetic services for adults or children? We are attempting to
find assistance for an 8 yo female with a right syme amputation that
needs a prosthesis. She lives in Hasswa (a small town outside of
Fallujah). They could travel to Baghdad if necessary for a prosthesis,
yet are unable to return to the United States at this time.
If we are unable to obtain a plaster, or fiberglass impression of
the residual limb, have you ever attempted to make a prosthesis from
photos, measurements, and tracings of the residual limb. Given the long
distance involved and the expense associated with travel, this may an
option we have to consider.
Suggestions appreciated.
Sincerely,
Ed
