Hello;
I have a prosthetic patient who indicated that due to an injury quite a few
years before his amputation, he was missing most of his cartilage along the
medial-anterior side of his knee. It has always caused some problems, but
now he is suffering more pain in the area with the pressure exerted from the
prosthesis.
I've already tried outsetting the foot more, to force the knee into a bit of
a valgus; and putting a pad on the lateral side of the patella to force the
medial compartment to open up.
These have provided some relief, but only some. Has anyone out there had a
patient like this, and found a better way of addressing this issue?
