Good evening all. I'm hoping this list server can help a patient of mine? I have a male patient early forties, height and weight are proportionate, b/k,
no other medical conditions except the amputation. patient presents with super condylar, super patella socket complaining that prostheses falls off all the time when he tries to run or during any type of physical activity. So hear we go, we try limb logic vacuum system with oww cushion liner and otto bock sealing sleeve, clear test socket fits well so we make polypro temp socket, works for awhile then patient has pain on end of residual limb, intolerable pain!! we then try flex-able socket with frame also with oww lockng liner, and then with alps liners, with the same result unbearable pain on the end of residual limb we then try a P T B socket with the same results. we have tried several types of modifications to sockets without any results, we did however find out what the problem is, patients amputation scar has gotten thickened and the redundant tissue moves on the distal end causing the pain, we have also tried gel-cups and teck spots, but
he still gets the pain at the scar, the foot we are using is the fushion from oww, we have also used the bio-quest. my question is are there any types of sockets, or any other type of new components that might help, or is a revision our only option?
P.S we have tried every type of liner on the market with the same results. thank you for your time.
