Thank you all for your input and quick responses! I received a lot of great feed back including:
15 people encouraging the use of a hard check socket first, with socks to get a good fit then making the liner.
The check socket will allow you to see and modify pressure areas more quickly than with the liner.
Pelite packs out with the check socket and then more with the lamination.
Fit the check socket with a 3-4 ply fit.
The pelite fit will be tighter than the check socket, usually 2 ply less.
Add extra foam to the liner in areas where adjustments may be required after lamination so you can grind the
liner and not the socket.

That is the same way we fit a socket with a gel locking liner.
The Keasey cone from DAW makes it easy to fabricate the liner and reform it if necessary.
