Hello all!

Does anyone know of an off-the-shelf pediatric short opponens that can help prevent gnawing of the 1st MCP and the dorsum of the 4th MCP?

I have a 3 yr old who has multiple issues who is obsessively gnawing these two areas and isn't responding to other treatments. They are currently using a WHO (which doesn't quite protect the areas) and the physio would like to try something that doesn't immobilize the wrist. I made him a soft one but he managed to chew it. I have looked at Wheaton and Rhino but they both immobilize the wrist. They have already tried elbow ROM liomitation to prevent him from getting the hand to his mouth but they wanted to try something less restrictive. Preferably OTS since he is growing rapidly.

Any experience with this type of problem would be much appreciated. I will post responses anonymously.

Thank you,
