ORIGINAL QUSTION:
Is it appropriate to add L2220 motion control in the ankle joints
to the CAM Walker? L4360 description indicates with or without ankle
joints but doesn't say that any motion control function is included..
Thanks, Randy McFarland, CPO Fullerton, CA
RESPONSES
We went through this a few years ago; we decided that it was not
appropriate to add L2220. I also believe AOPA offers the same
interpretation.
You are correct that the ROM is included in the CAM walker code. You
can not add any joint codes to the CAM walker. Addition codes for the
joints are for custom fabricated orthoses.
