Our heart felt sympathy to the family of Anthony Staros who has passed away from Alzheimer's this past Sunday morning, July 20, 2008 in New York City.
Tony studied at MIT, Stanford, Cornell and Hofstra and developed one of the early lower extremity prosthetic alignment jigs known as the Staros-Gardner coupling.
Employed by the VA since 1950, Tony established the first fully comprehensive technology center and in association with other organizations, pioneered and developed Prosthetics, Orthotics and assistive technology devices.
Tony also assisted in the formation of ISPO and the writing of its first constitution and served as the President of its II World congress and the societies 3 rd President.
