Thanks to those who responded.  Responses back suggested pre-flexed
liners such as the Aegis from ESP, making sure socket trimlines are out of
harms way, IT band stretching, and leg press exercises for the VMO that
don't put stress on the patella.

Dear colleagues,

With gel liners and sleeve suspension, I've started seeing more issues with patella pain and tracking problems.  Some solutions I've found moderately successful have been:

* changing suspension and thus eliminating the sleeve
* placing a donut or J-shaped buttress around the patella, under the sleeve
* cutting the patella out of the liner
* heat relieving the liner and sleeve (if thermoplastic)
* using silicone lotion on the patella to eliminate friction
* Vastus medialis strengthening
* injections
* patella stabilizing orthosis worn when prosthesis off

Any other ideas/ solutions would be much appreciated.  I'll post responses.

Thanks,
Zach Harvey, CPO
