Another RESPONSE

If you read the definition for a OA knee orthosis you will realize that
they are including most of what normally appears on a basic knee
orthosis. The manufacturers are covering themselves because when they
apply for Medicare L coding they are usually falling into a specific
code assignment. If you are
adding things to the orthosis that normally does not come from the
manufacturer then add the codes otherwise be careful because if an audit

finds that the knee orthosis was billed with additional codes but not
additional items they could ask you to repay it. Pre approval is suppose
to arrive soon which means prior authorization times again.
What a business!
