I am very concerned that in the recent communications on the O&P list
serve there have been some suggestions that ACA is releasing its mailing
list to outside organizations.
I cannot stress too strongly how seriously we take preserving people's
privacy. We have a very strict confidentiality policy which is printed
in every issue of inMotion:
ACA Confidentiality Policy
The Amputee Coalition of America (ACA) has a strict policy of
confidentiality for all individuals on the ACA database and mailing
lists. As part of our mission to educate our members, ACA works with its
partners, sponsors, and other allied health organizations to provide
information on the latest technology, healthcare practices, and
reimbursement issues that affect this community.
ACA DOES NOT RENT OR SELL THE MAILING LIST AT ANY TIME. All
correspondence sent to our mailing list is through a secure mail house
and is never released in any way to any organization or company outside
the ACA. If you do not wish to receive this information, contact the ACA
and we will activate an opt-out option on your database record. You will
continue to receive your magazines but will not receive any healthcare
or product updates. If you have any questions regarding the ACA's
confidentiality policy, please contact us at 888/267-5669.
All staff, volunteers and board members are required to sign a
confidentiality policy, and if at any time we hear that this has been
violated, the strongest measures are taken, up to and including
termination of employment. We depend on our partners, sponsors and
individual members to inform us if they are aware of any violations.
