FO for Cross Country

Hello List
I have a 17 yr old patient who is a cross country runner. Last spring he
suffered from shin splints during track season. His orthopedist had him stop
running for 6+ weeks during the summer. Upon starting training, the anterior pain
is back and now accompanied by posterior-lateral pain. The orthopedist
recommends foot orthotics for everyday and an additional low profile pair for his
running shoes. Some dampening of the impact of heel strike is needed for the shin
splints and pronation control of the posterior tib aspect of his symptoms is
also needed. Our facility fabricates most of our diabetic foot orthotics but
has historically sent out sports-type foot orthotics. The patient, physician and
I are not happy with what we have received in this case. Any recommendations
for materials / posting for both an everyday and running shoe pair?
Reimbursement is not an issue.
