Feature Film Casting Call
Orlando, FL A locally produced independent feature film TOM AND MARLO, is in the process of casting a small role, critical to the story, for a one day shoot in June. The production is having a difficult time casting this role and has issued this letter in the hopes of filling this speaking role with the right person. Since it is a fairly small role, no prior acting experience is necessary, although the company does require a positive and outgoing attitude and willingness to learn quickly.
A couple on a date (TOM and MARLO) encounters a soldier in uniform and his wife late at night as they all enter a diner. TOM strikes up a conversation and extends his hand to say “thank you for serving,” and the soldier (slightly upset) extends his prosthetic hand. TOM is embarrassed and they go their separate ways. Later as TOM and MARLO leave, the soldier extends his left hand for TOM to shake. TOM AND MARLO is the story of the moment a couple falls in love and the moment they must choose to stay together or separate.
All travel, lodging, meals, etc. for this role will be covered for the persons chosen. The scenes involving this person will be shot on Sunday, June 10 between 4pm and 4am in the Orlando area. This role will only require approximately one day plus travel as necessary. The production reiterates that no prior acting experience is required for this particular role.
The following is the breakdown of the character:
Soldier: Male, 21-40, single (right) arm amputee with prosthetic hand. Caucasian. 5'10'' and taller preferred. Height-weight proportionate. Positive, outgoing personality. Military uniform with airborne patch a plus.
