Hi
I have a patient who wears a custom leather ankle gauntlet and has had
it for a number of months and recently developed what looks to be mold.
The spots are dark blotches of varying sizes and are mostly located
around the ankle area. The manufacturer has cleaned the boot and
suggested that holes be placed to help ventilate. This seemed to help
for a short period of time but the spots are returning. Does anyone
have any suggestions? Has anyone else had a similar experience and what
did you do? (The patient does wear socks and never wears dark socks)
Thanks Heather Palmer, CPO
