Dear List,
Are there any resources besides the NYU manual that provide instructions on hip joint placement for a transfemoral prosthetic socket with pelvic band? The NYU manual states the hip joint should be placed congruent to the greater trochanter. Before reading this, I was wondering if a patient would benefit from a slightly offset alignment that forces the socket away from the distal end of the residual limb during hip flexion, for the purpose of comfort during sitting.
