My great thanks to whom helped in this case
Original post :
Dear list
We have an adult male paraplegic (both legs ) has been paraplegic
from 20
years ago because of spinal trauma ( in level of T10 ) who is now be
treated
with stem cell injection in spinal cord for 6 months and phisiotherapy
and
has reached the grade3 of hip extension , hip flection , hip
abduction/adduction .
knee extension : 2 , palntar/dorsiflexion :0-1 , some spasticity in
plantar flexors , joint deformity : not seen .
He likes to know that may he walk with some type of splints rather
than
long leg braces with assistance of walker or crutches without locking
knees?
Warm regards & sincerely

YOU CAN TRY FLOOR REACTION AFOS WITH A HIGH PRE TIBIAL SHELL REINFORCED ANKLE ((CARBON IF POSSIBLE )))) AS LONG AS THERE IS NO MORE THAN 10 DEGREES OF KNEE FLEX CONTRACTURE---AND WALKS ON EVEN FIRM GROUNG --USING FOREARM CRUTCHES --OR WALKER----RON CARTAYA MIAMI FLORIDA
in my view with this muscle power pt has to wear long leg brace
thnx

Dear fellow , I have some spinal cord patients that do very well with Floor Reaction ankle foot orthoses.Pick an off the self solid ankle foot and put a 10mm piece of EVA on the forefoot increasing the height of the forefoot comparing to the hear foot and simulate the effect of a Floor Reaction before molding a custom one. Sincerely, Mario Cesar Carvalho Biomedical engineer
Interesting recovery! Could you try Floor Reaction AFO's?
