Hello esteemed colleagues,
I was recently contacted by a representative of the Seattle VA who told me that the VA contract for Prosthetics was coming up in September and Orthotics in December of this year. I was told that the solicitation would not come in the mail and that it was to be found on the internet. I have searched for the solicitation with no success. I even called the <URL Redacted> help line which is the federal government business opportunity help line and asked them to guide me. Even with thier help, we could not find the solicitation. Can anyone help me find the link? Thanks
I was recently contacted by a therapist at a local nursing home requesting that I provide an AFO for one of the residents. She told me that the patient had been in the hospital and came to the facility on Medicare part A. Because they decided that she did not require the level of care for Med A, she was taken off Med A even though she is still short of the 100 days. She asked if I could bill Medicare for the brace within the 100 days since she was taken off Med A. Any ideas? Thanks
Lastly, we have been asked to provide a swim leg for a BK patient on Medicare. He has not had a prosthesis made for 4 years or so and also requires a socket replacement on the daily use prosthesis. Medicare billing suggestions? Also, can someone please remind me where we can obtain the ankle that allows locking in both walking and plantar flexed position for swimming? Thanks to all.
Sincerely,
