In May the Barr Foundation recieved a plea for help from Dr. John Bauman, a
orthopedic surgeon, Ed Skewes CP at Shriners Children's Hospital in
Georgia, and the amputee's niece, Mrs. Bob Bauman of Washington state, for
help in getting Mrs. Bauman's uncle 52 year old Sr. Fernando Caicedo in
Columbia, a new B/K prosthesis.
We were glad we were able to be able to coordinate help for this gentleman
as part of a ongoing assistance effort in providing Columbians with
prosthetic rehabilitation.
To date the Barr Foundation and Faro Funducion in the past 12 months have
assisted over 60 amputees with the support and donations from Euro
International and benefactor sponsors. Our program there is ongoing.
We would like to thank everyone involved including:
Laboratoria Gilete in Bogota and Alba Rojas were instrumental in making this
happen for Mr. Caicedo.Ms. Rojas and the O&P facility in Bogota, Laboratoria
Gilete, has helped the Barr and Faro Foundations assisting amputees in
Medellin, Columbia.
We appreciate your support.
Each Friday thru Barr Foundation sends a post and similar salute to a person
or Hope Donor whom has made a great difference in a life.
Such Whole Again stories hopefully will help make your weekend and to
remind you, knowing that most of you whom became professionals and industry
providers, got into this business to help people, that you are accomplishing
allot and are appreciated.
With your help and support, the Barr Foundation has helped over 1200
amputees become whole again who otherwise would not have the financial
resources to do so for themselves.
