This week's Barr Foundation salute goes to Dan Pope, Paul Prusakowski CEO
and staff at O&P Digital Technologies.
Two weeks ago, the Barr Foundation sent a post to the O&P list serve
subscribers seeking assistance in locating a qualified prosthetist in
Kenya,in the Tharaka District of Africa. It is one of the biggest districts
in Kenya. It is about 5 hours north of Nairobi. It is near Mt. Kenya also.
The nearest town is Meru.
The 13 year old boy we are trying to help get a prosthesis and we have the
components that ,once determined, can be sent down by private courier. Does
anyone know of a prosthetist that can evaluate and provide the initial
prosthetic rehabilitation for this boy and subsequent fittings? If so we
would appreciate you contacting me.
The Barr Foundation will provide components and may subsidize the cost.
The O&P Listserve has proved invaluable time and time again to the Barr
Foundation's assistance efforts both domestically and abroad.
Once again posts to the O&P List serve delivered favorable results to our
recent request for a qualified prosthetist in Kenya, Africa to evaluate a
treat a 13 year old amputee.
The results:
Dear Tony,
I have received correspondence from Dan Pope about a hospital outside
Nairobi that does the surgery and prosthesis work for children like the
young boy we are helping. I have sent an email through our contacts to the
boy's parents informing them that we have a prosthetic for the boy. I am
returning to Kenya on the 17th of July and will keep you informed as to our
progress in getting this boy's leg taken care of. I cannot adequately
express in words my appreciation for what you have accomplished for this
young man. May God richly bless you, keep you and cause His face to shine
upon you, your ministry and your family.
Blessings, Lynn Miller
The success was primarily due to all of your participation on this list
serve.
We will keep you posted to what I am sure will be yet another happy
conclusion.
Each Friday thru Barr Foundation sends a post and similar salute to a person
or Hope Donor whom has made a great difference in a life.
Such Whole Again stories hopefully will help make your weekend and to
remind you, knowing that most of you whom became professionals and industry
providers, got into this business to help people, that you are accomplishing
allot and are appreciated.
