Original post:
I've found it difficult to pull copoly or polypro over
a flexible inner liner such as proflex without causing
the liner to melt and stick to the stockinette.
Any suggestions to do this in a fast/ efficient way?

TRY USING A PVA BAG OVER THE FLEXIBLE LINER THIS HAS
WORKED FOR US VERY WELL. RICHARD GAUDIO C.O.L.O.

If Proflex is anything like Duraflex you need to
paint it with
cellulose
acetate (Acetone mixed with cellulose pellets until
they melt) A
thin
coat done in the fumehood and then you should be able
to pull the nylon
over
it and drape as normal.
Good Luck!

Sorry to wait so long to reply to this post just soak
the nylon in
water prior tp applying over proflex as the heat
creates steam the
moisture forms a vapor barrierthat sustantially
reduces the afore mentioned
melting problem

go to oandptech.com it has been discussed there

Endolite has a product that you can pull over the
flexible liner then pull over that.
It is thin enough not to present any problems with
size yet does not allow the heat to transfer to the
flexible liner enough for it to stick.
It comes in 3 sizes... last I checked.
Good luck

We pull polypro over polyethylene with two wet vacuum
hose in-between.
This will allow for separation, smooth plastics, and
they will still
fit very snugly.

Zach:
When you make your original negative casting make it
over the liner you
plan
to use (have your patient wear the liner during cast &
measure). Make a
check socket if you feel a benefit from such a step in
the procedure
and
then proceed with your final forming. I also account
for 2% shrinkage
with
co-poly and poly pro in both length and girth. This is
done by adding
distal
material while maintaining the configuration (or
cutting the check
socket
and separating the sections 2% in length. Then I add
stockinet to equal
the
circumference, AP and ML needs (+2%).

try and pull a pva bag over the inner bootie.

I USE THERMOLYN SOFT FROM OTTO BOCK FOR MY FLEX WALL,
AND WHEN I PULL POLYPRO OR CO-POLY OVER THAT I NEVER
HAVE A PROBLEM SEPERATING THE TWO. ALL I USE AS A
SEPERATOR IS TWO NYLONS. HAVE HAD MUCH SUCCESS WITH
THIS COMBO. ALMOST 99%.
--------------------------------------------
This may sound unusual but try spraying water over the
nylon and proflex before you pull the co-poly. we had
the same problem and I asked a manufacturer and it has
worked really well for us. You will still have some
sticking but very easily buffed out.
-----------------------------------
I believe that the techs that have worked for me are
applying celouse acetate to the flexible liner to act
as a seperation barrier.I would say that
proflex, especially with silicone is a problem with
this type of application anyway. I use proflex all the
time and the only stuff I have found that does this
decent is maybe optiflex or the Northvane plastic.
Expensive mistakes aren't they? Good luck.

Remove the flexible lining from the model, make a
dummy liner out of
polyethylene, same thickness as your flexible inner
lining material,
the do your polypropylene or co-poly frame over it.

Hey Zack, If no answer comes with a solution, In
the past I've just shot a second mold. I use Delta
wrap with a cutting strip for the impression. Use
Saran wrap to separate and apply the Delta Wrap.
Before it sets have a plastic bag ready to apply over
the mold and throw it under vacuum to ensure that you
don't end up with any bridging. If anyone has a
solution to bypass the second mold, please share!!!

Cover the proflex with a pva bag before application of
the vacuum
nylon.

Yes, don't do it! You must wrap the proflex while it
is still on the positive. Use a cutdown strip and cut
off the negative wrap, pour and fill it, and then pull
the polypro(or copoly) over that. Rob CPO
