Each week the Barr Foundation sends a salute to a person(s) and/or Hope
Donor(s) who have made a great difference in a life.

Such Whole Again stories will hopefully help make your weekend and remind
you, knowing that most of you became professionals and industry providers to
get into this business to help people, you are accomplishing a tremendous
amount and are sincerely appreciated.

This week, thanks to the generosity of Dino Cozzarelli CP, formally of North
Carolina, now practicing in San Jose, Costa Rica, Alps South of
St.Petersburg,Florida and College Park Industries of Fraser,Michigan, 10
year old Juan Batista, a congenital b/k , is a very happy camper these
days..

He was fit originally with a prosthesis above the knee by a Costa Rican
practitioner due to his short below the knee residual limb(stump).

When Dino met Juan he was excited to have the opportunity to provide
improved ambulatory function.

Juan had no funding to provide the level of prosthesis he needed.

After contacting the Barr Foundation, Dino was able to fit Juan with a state
of the art prosthesis using a CPI Trustep foot component, a donated pylon
and Alps South Liners.

The College Park Trustep foot allowed for more stability needed due to the
short stump.

Juan is also a competitive swimmer locally and Dino was able to construct a
swim fin to assist him.

Juan is on his way to an improved ambulatory lifestyle.
