As part of the AOPA exhibit committee I have been asked to share some exciting news!!
Do you work with an accomplished O&P patient or athlete? (We'd especially love to hear about an accomplished orthotics wearer!) If so, AOPA would like to feature your patient in a unique forum demonstrating exciting, even extreme athletic capabilities at this years National Assembly in Las Vegas, Nevada on Monday evening, September 26.
Athletic demonstrations of interest include, but are not limited to: rock climbing, boxing, skateboarding, surfing, basketball, soccer, water sports, skydiving, cycling/mountain biking and Paralympics sports.
The purpose of these live and/or video demonstrations is to promote the tremendous rehabilitation possibilities that can be achieved through the advancements of O&P technology.
If you have patient(s) you would like to be considered for this unique event, please contact Mary Merkin at <Email Address Redacted> or call 571-431-0818 to receive an application. All applications must be received by close of business Thursday, June 30.
Please note: We will be sending a follow up memo in the next several weeks to let you know what demos are approved. There is no participation fee for these demonstrations. In fact, AOPA is willing to donate the meeting registration costs to any athletes chosen to participate. However, all appearance fees and associated travel costs (including accommodations) would be up to the sponsor and/or the individual athletes. Any additional liability insurance fees would also be the responsibility of the sponsor and/or athlete.
