Hello,

I may be wrong, but I thought that we could bill medicare for work completed that is not delivered in some instances. Is that only in death of the patient, or can it apply in other instances?

I have a patient that was cast for a custom knee brace and then decided that they didn't want it when it arrived. They did not refuse it after they saw it, they won't even come in for the fitting appointment. It's custom and can't be used on someone else.

Any advice on where to look at the rules, or how to proceed would be appreciated. Also, how do you avoid similar situations. Require a deposit?

Thank you,

Nathan Keepers, CPO
