Dear Listserv members:
I am looking for examples of private health insurance coverage
restrictions for either prosthetic or orthotic services. Some examples
that I have found include policies that restrict amputees to one limb
per life or policies that cap prosthetic benefits at $2,000 per year. I
would also like to hear about insurers that offer unrestricted O&P
coverage.
The purpose of this inquiry is to develop a national snapshot of where
O&P insurance coverage stands today so that the profession can determine
whether orthotic and/or prosthetic coverage is getting better or worse.
If you would like to share your experiences with private insurance
coverage that you or your patients are confronting, please respond to me
and include the following information:
Insurer:
State:
O&P Coverage Policy:
Respectfully submitted,
Walter Gorski
